Indeed we are the mentors and we are the docents.
It's not possible to read good quotes all the time. Neither we are surrounded by motivating people nor we get the most chances to listen to speeches now and then. So the question arises naturally: How do we motivate and get inspired?

The other day while driving my way back home from the countryside, my companion and friend David C. (name changed on request) was very upset about life, especially about his business and finance, the reason why we went for an outing. Upon advised to attend motivational speeches by Gurus, he rejected on that pretext of not having much time. I understood the situation and felt the urge to try to sort out the issue and get him charged and assured him to look after the matter. That was the evening we spend together gulping down few pegs of wine and getting back to respective comfort of our homes.
We got busy in our work henceforth and though was in touch over phone often and I felt that gradually he is on the right track of his own and ' All is well'. I promised him of mental support all the way and tried my best to do that. But, I was under the misconception.

One fine morning going through the newspaper over the cup of tea, I was shocked to read the news of his death in a fatal road accident. Literally I was shocked and speechless. Upon further enquiry it was clear that under the influence of heavy drinking he crashed his bike in the expressway. I am not sure enough, as of now, if it was a suicide? My small tribute to you David, penned down with utmost care to help out all those under the sun to be motivated, without the pain to attend seminars. Hey, please don't make me a Guru man, neither I am trying to be one.

We keep seeking for inspiration in the outer world, on the Internet or in other people, we try to imitate their lifestyles, attend various training sessions in order to become motivated and inspired. There is nothing wrong in learning good things and inculcating skills within you. The incorrect part is losing your originality to achieve that short- term inspiration. No doubt, good words from people, motivational speeches and spending time with positive thinkers provide an instant flow of fresh energy for sometime, but what about the rest of your life?
Well, David, my dear fellow, the answer was very simple. The real motivation and inspiration were within you and to find that, you don’t need long modules or training sessions.
Just one thing was required: changing your thought process and controlling them as you were the creator of your thoughts, and your thoughts were the creator of your World.
So you were to think positive, build confidence in yourself, realize your worth and other things would have been sorted out. Instead of reading other’s quotes, modules and speeches, you would have created your original piece and read them when you feel low, speak good about yourself, be thankful for what you have and keep the other mediums of inspiration as an additional tool to polish up your skills. And you would could have been your own inspiration.
Wherever you are, stay blessed, RIP. I miss you a lot.....
